Working manual for the field:
Selecting a school and management team:
Selecting a school
Selecting a central coordinator for the school
Have his/her phone number/e-mail and contact available to the local team
Selecting a local team and coordinator for the school
Have their phone/e-mails and mailing address available to the central team
Selecting working team with local volunteers and school teachers
There must be student representatives in the team
Selecting a local coordinator if there are more than one school in our program
We should avoid active politicians in our team to keep non-political nature of our organization.
We must be careful to select local teams to ensure transparency of our organization.
We would prefer at least one university students for the local area in the local team.
We could have any professional or businessman from that area who are now living in Dhaka or else where other than that city to encourage the students.
**Encourage all the team members to have e-mail address and that would introduce them to the information technology wave of the world.
Selecting students:
Start working with grade-8 (eight) students when starting the program in a school and then move gradually in higher classes in the following years.
Exception:
For now we can start with grade -8 and grade-9 at the same time and allocate the resources evenly between the classes.
Selecting students for scholarship:
First we allocate the money for one class, say Tk=5000.00 for each class for a month.
Discuss with students and local team how they want to distribute the money.
Let the students have their view on that.
They may distribute among 10 or 15.
But the upper limit for single student is Tk=400.00 for grade-8 students and Tk=500.00 for grade -9 students.
They may allocate some money for their activities.
We could explore the possibility whether the students could decide who would get the scholarship. We would guide them in this process.
We might have helped them with definite guidelines.
Students may also decide the scholarship criteria and make their decision based on that.
We would set up a guide line and criteria and we would decide the recipients based on those guidelines and criteria.
.
*** we should try to find one or two students of critical financial needs who are brilliant in their class performance even they are not in our project schools.
How the money would be distributed:
Money would be distributed in check; not in cash in any way.
Money would be distributed in each quarter.
We guide the students to open an account to deposit their money.
We could have a small session to discuss about the need of savings from what ever they have and must save something for their rainy days.
Student would learn about money management for this type of work and sessions.
Checks should be distributed through the school authority and that would ensure their active participation in the program.

About Inspiration Bangladesh
INSPIRATION, BangladeshAssisting students in shaping a better future since 2001Inspiration Bangladesh is working with students inBangladesh in shaping a better future for them. We areassisting them through moral support, helping them insocial activities, and offering them scholarship tomeet their educational expenses. All these activitiesare pointing towards a goal 'creating an enlightenedand responsible generation.' We are working togetherto have more conscious citizens in our society. Two groups, one, the expatriate Bangladeshis living inUS and other parts of the world, and second, a groupof courageous and devoted people living in Bangladesh, are working together to reach our goals. the expatriate group, known as contributors, iscontributing time, knowledge, and money to achieve ourgoals. The other group is working directly with thestudents and managing all the activities (such asGreen Institution, Peer Development, IT Center) invarious parts of our motherland. The students are performing certain activities andcontributing in the society as a recipient of thescholarship. In fact, they are earning thescholarship. All our activities and accounts are transparent andare published regularly in our web sitehttp://www.inspirationbangladesh.org/. We are trying tostrengthen the culture of responsibility andtransparency. We believe that students would learnfrom us through our activity, and this is one of thebest ways to teach them.We are asking you to be a part of this nobleinitiative by being a contributor and becoming a partof our family who are working hard for themselves andto help the needy students back in the country.
